Nature Studies

In recent years, thanks largely to the advances in digital camera technology, I have spent increasing amounts of my time doing photography, especially outdoor photography. Two of my favorite types of photographs have been wide panoramic shots (such as the Glacier Park image at the bottom of this page) and ultra-close-up macro shots, including many "bugs on flowers" such as these two:

Some of my favorite photos have been printed at various sizes and sold at art fairs in Minnesota.

And as a Minnesotan with ready access to a lakeshore, I'll occasionally have an opportunity to capture a photo or video that shows something a bit unusual, such as this "semi-albino" Canada Goose, accompanied by a normal Canada Goose:

Lake access also provides me with opportunities and motivation to study technical water quality issues that affect the lakes in our area.
